BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chile's Nicolas Jarry progressed to the final of the Argentina Open on Saturday with a 7-6(2), 6-3 victory over Spanish top seed Carlos Alcaraz.
Third seed Jarry hit seven aces and won 74% of his first serves as he swept past the world No. 2 in an hour and 55 minutes on the outdoor clay of the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club.
On Sunday, he will meet Argentine wild card entrant Facundo Diaz in the final.
23-year-old Diaz, ranked 87th in the world, advanced by overcoming countryman Federico Coria 6-2, 6-3 earlier on Saturday.
Diaz won 74% of his first service points and saved four of five break points against him to take the match in an hour and 25 minutes. ■
