LAS VEGAS, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world's premier tech show, kicked off in the U.S. city of Las Vegas on Tuesday.

The annual event, running from Tuesday to Friday, draws more than 130,000 attendees and over 4,000 exhibitors from more than 150 countries and regions, including over 1,200 startups, according to the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), organizer of the CES.

The number of attendees goes up from about 115,000 last year and 45,000 in 2022, according to CTA.

A blend of cutting-edge technologies, new launches and quirky gadgets are expected to swarm the show floor, showcasing the latest trends and innovation in the consumer electronics industries.

Chinese companies have been important forces at CES in recent years, impressing global exhibitors with innovative products and solutions.

Chinese companies from various categories in the consumer electronic industries participated in CES 2024, include well-known brands like Lenovo, BOE, Hisense and TCL, as well as robot companies such as Dreame and Yarbo, and electric vehicle companies including U Power and AIMA.

Show participants are expected to experience new technologies from global brands, hear about the future of technology from thought leaders and collaborate face-to-face with other attendees.

Top themes of this year's show include artificial intelligence, mobility, sustainability and innovations to solve some of the world's biggest challenges, according to CTA.

A series of panels will be held on the sidelines of the show to address the opportunities and challenges of new technologies.

"This year at CES, we are excited to spotlight the critical role that technology is playing to improve every aspect of the human experience. CES 2024 will be the hub where business leaders meet, dream, and solve," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CTA.
