YOKOHAMA, Japan, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- The youth in Japan's Yokohama ushered in a new stage of life after observing Coming of Age Day, a public holiday to congratulate and encourage all those who have reached the age of maturity at 18 over the past year and celebrate adulthood.
The holiday is held annually on the second Monday of January across Japan, with new adults dressing up in traditional costumes or formal Western clothes enjoying festivities.
