BEIRUT, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Two Hezbollah fighters were killed and three others injured on Friday in confrontations with the Israeli army on Lebanon's southern border, said Lebanese military sources.

The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said an Israeli drone launched two air-to-surface missiles toward a house in Lebanon's southern border village of Yarine, killing one Hezbollah fighter.

Meanwhile, another Hezbollah fighter was killed and three others injured in a series of raids and artillery shelling by Israeli army targeting the village of Mays al-Jabal, the sources added.

The Shiite military group said its members carried out attacks on Israeli gatherings at Ramim Barracks, Al-Jarda, Shtula, and Rouwaisat al-Alam, causing casualties, without specifying details.

The Lebanon-Israel border has witnessed increased tension since Oct. 8 after Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets toward Israel in support of the Hamas attack on Israel the previous day, prompting the Israeli response by firing heavy artillery toward southeastern Lebanon.

The confrontations between Hezbollah and Israel killed 154 on the Lebanese side, including 107 Hezbollah members, according to unnamed security sources.
