XIAMEN, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- The ninth Jimei x Arles International Photo Festival kicked off on Friday in Xiamen, a coastal city in east China's Fujian Province.
This year's festival features 32 exhibitions, displaying more than 2,100 works by over 100 artists from more than 20 countries and regions, including Germany, Poland, Italy, France and Singapore. The festival will run until Jan. 21, 2024.
During the festival, a series of activities such as portfolio reviews, lectures, workshops, performances and meet-and-greets will be held.
This year's Jimei x Arles will also feature the "Isles Project" with the theme "Art is Never Alone."
The initiative aims to integrate art into a variety of cultural, artistic and living spaces, inviting the audience to experience the charm of urban art stroll and become co-creators of artworks.
Launched in 2015, the Jimei x Arles International Photo Festival has recorded more than 430,000 visits over the past eight years. ■
