NEW YORK, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted 255 km S of Vailoatai, American Samoa, at 20:22:57 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 3.1 km, was initially determined to be at 16.65 degrees south latitude and 170.99 degrees west longitude. ■
