BEIJING, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday met with Maltese Foreign Minister Ian Borg in Beijing.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Malta to set an example of international relations featuring equal treatment between countries of different sizes.
Wang called on the two sides to implement the broad consensus reached by the two heads of state, and deepen and substantiate cooperation in various fields.
China and Malta can strengthen coordination in multilateral stage such as the United Nations and work together to build a community with a shared future for humanity, Wang said.
Borg said Malta firmly adheres to the one-China policy and is committed to active Belt and Road cooperation. ■
