JAKARTA, May 30 (Xinhua) -- The construction of the girder passage for the No. 2 bridge on the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (HSR) was completed after the relocation of the expressway overbridge, the railway's operator said on Monday.

A statement released by KCIC, a joint venture consortium between Chinese and Indonesian state-owned firms that runs the 142-km high-speed railway, said the No. 2 bridge is one of the most difficult control projects of the whole line.

Close to the Jakarta-Bandung expressway, the 36-km bridge with 24 continuous beams is the longest one in the project.

With a design speed of 350 km per hour, the high-speed railway built with Chinese technology will cut the journey between Jakarta and Bandung, the capital of West Java province, from more than three hours to around 40 minutes.
