The Kizil Thousand-Buddha Caves in Xinjiang form the earliest large-scale cave complex in China. There are 269 coded caves with a total area of over 10,000 square meters of murals that have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Li Danni, a dance instructor, came here to research the Qiuci dance and music depicted in the murals.
