ROME, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Sandro Tonali celebrated his 22nd birthday with a brace on Sunday, as AC Milan came from behind to beat Hellas Verona 3-1 in Serie A.
The pressure was on the Rossoneri after Inter Milan temporarily moved to the top with a 4-2 victory over Empoli on Friday.
Tonali had the ball into the net in the 14th minute but it was flagged offside before Verona went ahead in the 37th minute when Marco Davide Faraoni steered his head into the net.
Milan got back on level terms before the interval when Rafael Leao beat his marker and broke into the box to assist for Tonali to tap in.
It was destined to be the day for Tonali as he turned the game around straight after the break almost with the same style when Leao sprinted down the left to roll across for the Italian international to turn in.
The Diavolo sealed the win in the closing stage as Alessandro Florenzi unleashed a missile into the net, minutes after coming off the bench.
With the win, AC Milan went into the final two rounds with 80 points, two points over Inter Milan.
Elsewhere, bottom side Venezia extended its theoretical Serie A hope with a 4-3 thriller over Bologna, Atalanta won Spezia 3-1 away, Salernitana tied with Cagliari 1-1. ■
