JERUSALEM, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Former NBA superstar Ray Allen will arrive in Israel to hold a festive practice session for youth players on Wednesday, the Israeli champions and Euroleague club Maccabi Tel Aviv said in a statement on Sunday.

The 46-year-old will be joined by his former teammates from the University of Connecticut's Uconn Huskies, Donyell Marshall, Kevin Ollie, Rudy Johnson and Nantambu Willingham, all of whom are currently basketball coaches.

They will coach 13 and 14-year-old players on Maccabi's youth teams, together with Nadav Henefeld, former player of Maccabi and Uconn, in the coastal city of Tel Aviv.

Hall of Famer Ray Allen starred at the Milwaukee Bucks, Seattle Supersonics, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat between 1996 and 2014, before his official retirement in 2016.

He won two NBA titles in 2008 with Boston and 2013 with Miami and was selected for the All-Star team 10 times, as well as an Olympic gold medal at Sydney 2000.

Until December 2021, Allen was holding the all-time high of 2,973 made 3-pointers, then overtaken by Golden State's superstar Steph Curry.
